Yamaha MT-15 2025 Launched with Bold Design, Advanced Features and Impressive Mileage

The Yamaha MT-15 2025 continues the brand’s aggressive streetfighter philosophy with a bold and muscular design. The sharp LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, and minimalist tail section give it a raw and sporty appeal. For 2025, Yamaha has introduced new colour schemes including Metallic Silver Cyan, Vivid Violet Metallic, and Ice Storm, which add more freshness to the lineup. The bike carries the “Dark Side of Japan” DNA, which has become a trademark of the MT series.

Engine and Performance

At the heart of the MT-15 lies the same proven 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The motor delivers around 18.4 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, ensuring smooth gear shifts and reducing wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. This engine makes the MT-15 versatile, equally capable in city rides and highway cruising.

Frame, Suspension and Brakes

Built on Yamaha’s trusted Deltabox frame, the MT-15 2025 offers excellent rigidity and sharp handling. It comes with upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock that provide a balanced ride quality and improved stability. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with wide tyres (110/70 front and 140/70 rear) that ensure strong grip. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, giving riders confidence in all conditions.

Features and Technology

Yamaha has updated the MT-15 with modern technology to make it more appealing to today’s riders. The Deluxe variant gets a new colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app. Riders can access call and SMS alerts, maintenance reminders, and fuel consumption data directly on the display. The Standard variant continues with a negative LCD console. Full LED lighting, including DRLs and tail lamp, adds to its premium feel.

Comfort and Practicality

The MT-15 has a relatively upright riding position, making it comfortable for city rides. However, the pillion seat remains on the smaller side, which may not be ideal for long journeys. With a kerb weight of just around 141 kg, the bike is light and easy to handle in traffic. The 10-litre fuel tank offers decent range for daily commutes, though long-distance touring may require more frequent refuelling stops.

Price and Variants

The Yamaha MT-15 2025 is available in two variants. The Standard model is priced at around ₹1.69 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Deluxe version with TFT display and extra features costs approximately ₹1.80 lakh. Though the pricing is slightly on the higher side for a 150cc segment bike, Yamaha aims to justify it with advanced features, refined performance, and premium build quality.

Conclusion

The Yamaha MT-15 2025 is a stylish and feature-rich motorcycle that combines aggressive design with reliable performance. It is best suited for young riders who want a naked streetfighter with modern technology and sharp handling. While the pillion comfort and small fuel tank may limit its touring ability, as an urban street machine, the MT-15 remains one of the strongest contenders in its class.
