Yamaha R15 V5 2025: Sporty Design, Powerful Engine and Modern Features

Yamaha has brought the new R15 V5 in 2025 with a sharper design, updated features and better performance. This model continues the legacy of the R15 series with sportier looks and advanced technology, making it one of the most stylish 150cc bikes in India.

Design

The Yamaha R15 V5 comes with a full fairing body inspired by the R-series superbikes. It has a projector LED headlamp, LED daytime running lights, split seats and a sharp tail section. The new graphics and lightweight frame give it a premium sporty appeal. Upside down front forks and aerodynamic design make it more stable at higher speeds.

Engine

The motorcycle is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation technology. It produces about 18.4 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox which comes with assist and slipper clutch for smooth gear shifting. Some higher variants also offer a quick-shifter for even better performance.

Mileage

The Yamaha R15 V5 is expected to deliver an average mileage of around 45 to 50 km per litre under normal riding conditions. The fuel tank capacity is 11 litres which is sufficient for both city and highway rides.

Features

The new R15 V5 comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect system. It shows gear position, shift light and many other riding details. Dual channel ABS is offered for safety and traction control is available in selected variants. The bike also has a side-stand engine cut-off system and modern LED lighting all around.

Suspension and Brakes

For suspension, the R15 V5 uses upside down telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are managed by disc brakes at both ends with dual channel ABS which makes it safer to ride at higher speeds.

Ride and Comfort

The riding position of the Yamaha R15 V5 is aggressive with clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs. The seat height is around 815 mm which is comfortable for most riders, though the pillion seat remains compact and is better for short rides only.

Price and Launch

The expected price of Yamaha R15 V5 in India is between ₹1.85 lakh and ₹1.95 lakh ex-showroom, depending on the variant. The motorcycle is expected to be available in multiple colours and will be officially launched in 2025.
